Newcastle United unveiled their 2014/15 Premier League away jersey last week. In an era of bold away jerseys, the Geordies and Puma have taken a different approach with a silver/black kit. The jersey was inspired from ones worn by Peter Beardsley, Chris Waddle, and Paul Gascoigne from the 1980’s.
The jersey adds some flash with the details on the jersey. The pinstripes are made up with a vertical printing of ‘Newcastle United Football Club.’ The v-neck collar has black detailing at the front of the neck and additional club accents at the back of the neck.
The black accents are continued on the sleeve of the jersey.
“The new away kit is a celebration of one our most iconic shirt designs, with some of our most famous players in the modern era wearing the all silver kit between 1983 and 1988,” Stuart Middlemiss, director of retail at Newcastle United said.
Newcastle is hoping to debut the new jersey in the Premier League’s final game of the season. Newcastle will host title-chasers Liverpool on Sunday, May 11 but are waiting for final league approval to wear the new kit.
The jersey is made from PUMA dryCELL technology that wicks and manages moisture during competition.
