The New York Cosmos are the most recognized soccer brand in the U.S. and are leaders when it comes to innovation in the game and continued that tradition when they announced they had partnered with Under Armour as their technical sponsor.

The North American Soccer League (NASL) club become the first professional soccer team sponsorship for the Baltimore-based company in the U.S. but join a growing list of top clubs – the Premier League’s Tottenham, São Paulo FC, Colo-Colo and Cruz Azul, from around the world to partner with the brand.

“We are very excited about this new alliance with Under Armour,” said New York Cosmos Chief Operating Officer, Erik Stover. “We share many of the same brand values, including ambition and innovation. Under Armour is one of the fastest growing performance brands in the world and we can’t wait to share our new kit with our fans.”

Under Armour will provide the team’s official jersey as well as training, sideline, and travel apparel beginning with the upcoming 2016 campaign.  The new kits will be unveiled on Wednesday, March 16 at the Under Armour Brand House in New York City.

This is the second major partnership announcement by Under Armour with the NASL.  Earlier this week, Under Armour and the NASL partnered for UA to be the official match ball provider for the league.
