Major League Soccer expansion side New York City Football Club has been very vocal about their intentions to excel in the league and even the sports world ahead of their inaugural season.

With a very strong financial backing, globally revered superstars coming to play in North America, and a rapidly growing supporters base, The Big Apple’s second club has huge aspirations to be number one at the end of the 2015 MLS season.

Partnered with league-wide kit sponsor adidas, NYCFC has revealed their highly-anticipated home kit. This release comes a week after Kaka’ and fellow MLS 2015 expansion club Orlando City SC revealed their home strip with odes to their accomplished past for their first kit of their future. David Villa was on hand to show off NYCFC’s first kit.

adidas, the apparel sponsor for the entire league, has helped in the design of the new jersey. David Villa was on hand for the launch of the club’s first kit.

The strip is a simple, yet great look for the debuting club. Inspired by parent club Manchester City, the kit has City Blue with white and obsidian Blue details. The jersey has a white crew neck collar with matching white adidas three stripes on the sleeves and a single stripe near the cuffs. The inner collar has the team’s label on the neckline. Both sleeves also feature the new MLS crest, in City and obsidian Blue. The tagmark at the bottom of the shirt features an Inaugural Season logo inspired by older subway mosaics. The main sponsor, Etihad Airways, appears on the chest, in obsidian.

The shorts are white with City Blue three stripes on each side, and with City Blue trim at the very bottom, with the socks following the same colors.
