Ten days after unveiling their inagural home kit, expansion Major League Soccer club New York City Football Club have revealed their away kit. The team and the city at large are heavily anticipating for NYCFC’s first season, when the MLS 2015 season kicks off next April. The pair of kits from league sponsor and supplier adidas are a stylish duo for the incoming season, sure to win many fans and kit enthusiasts.
The kit, comes in a bold black color, with City Blue and Amsterdam Orange features. The collar has a unique inset triangle collar in Amsterdam Orange, the same shade of orange from New York City’s flag. A trademark from other New York-based sports teams is used, as a monogram with the letters NYC from the badge is used on the back of the shirt in orange. The three stripes and cuffs on the sleeves are in City Blue. The new MLS emblem takes both sleeves, appearing with the shield in orange, and MLS label and stars in City Blue over a black field from the jersey.
Five diagonal stripes across the jersey is the main feature of NYCFC’s first change kit, representing the city’s five boroughs. The sponsor, Eithad Airways is in City Blue, with the adidas logo on the right side of the shirt in the same color. The badge is at the heart of the jersey. The subway-inspired Inaugural Season tag is on the lower left of the shirt, in orange. The shorts are standard, with the three stripes in City Blue on each side.
