The Premier League unveiled a new logo earlier this year and it received its fair share of jokes via social media but it is no joking matter when it comes to an official customized Premier League jersey.

For a customized jersey to be official it needs to include the league sanctioned numbers and letters on the back of the jersey as well as sleeve logos.  The current logo (seen above) has been worn on players’ jerseys since the 2007/08 season but starting next season this look on 2016/17 jerseys will no longer be official.

The Premier League has been working with Sporting ID, the league’s customization provider, for the past month on the new customization and World Soccer Shop will have this new customization for all 2016/17 Premier League jerseys as they started being received ahead of next season’s campaign.
