The United States national teams unleashed a new look over the past week with the USMNT senior team as well as Under-23 team giving the 2016 USA Home Jersey and 2016 USA Away jersey their on-field debuts.
The away jersey took to the field first with both teams in action on the road. The USMNT dropped a shocking 2-0 result to Guatemala in FIFA World Cup qualifying at Estadio Mateo Flores in Guatemala City while the U-23 side finish level with Colombia in the opening leg of the 2-leg playoff with the final Olympic spot on the line.
The teams were back in the USA for their 2nd matches of the international break with the home jersey set for the runway. The senior team rebounded with a comprehensive 4-0 win over Guatemala at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, Ohio while the U-23 were not as fortunate missing out of the Olympics with their 2-1 result against Colombia at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
The USMNT win over Guatemala also gave fans a look of both the long sleeve and short sleeve jersey.
The USWNT will give the jersey it’s first run out with the women’s team against Colombia on April 6. Jill Ellis’ side face the South American side in a 2-match series with the opening match at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford, Connecticut on April 6 followed by a second match Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, PA on April 10.
