The Royal Netherland Football Federation (K.N.V.B.) announced that they will prolong their partnership with American manufacturer Nike until 2026. Thus, signifying a 30-year long collaboration between the multinational corporation and the Dutch National Team. The partnership that began in the mid-90’s will require Nike to continue to distribute and produce off and on the field apparel for Dutch players, coaches and fans.

Nike official, Dermott Cleary, was enthusiastic about the resolution made and expressed his opinion on the issue. Cleary stated, “We are delighted to extend our partnership with the Dutch National Team, as the KNVB celebrates its 125th year. The KNVB was one of Nike’s first major football sponsorship and has been instrumental in helping us on our journey to become the world’s most innovative and leading football brand. We look forward to building on our success in the future.”

Similarly, Dutch team representative, Bert van Oostveen, highlighted the importance this new deal will have on the team. Oostveen expressed, “It is significant that our partnership with Nike is the longest running sponsorship deal in the history of the KNVB. Nike is the world’s leading football brand and they’re not only committed to the Dutch National Team, but to fans of the game across The Netherlands- and we are very proud to renew our partnership.”

This new partnership will surely increase the influence Nike has on the demanding soccer market and meet the expectation of everyone surrounding the team. The Dutch are undefeated in the 2014 World Cup thus far. Do you think they have a shot at to win it all?
