Honoring club and city history in the form of a very stunning shirt. The Montreal Impact of Major League Soccer revealed their 2016 home jersey from adidas Thursday night. The Impact will look to build on a momentous 2015, as the Quebecois club take a page of their club and city’s history moving forward.
Montreal’s new primary comes in blue and black with sliver trim. A black modern v-neck collar gives a classy touch to the jersey. The main design marks a return to the Impact’s traditional home kit, a blue and black striped jersey, once previously a third kit while in MLS. Additional silver pinstripes are placed within the blue stripes. Clean blue sleeves are met with black and white trim at the cuffs. The sides have black three-stripes trim down the flanks. The back is a mostly clean blue, with the striped pattern reappearing at the bottom.
The inner collar and back-neck inset both feature a blue and white design based off the Fleurdelisé, the flag of Quebec. The neckline within the collar has the tricolor combination of blue, white and black.
Owing so much to the deep and rich history of the city of Montreal, the jocktag in the bottom left of the jersey has metallic silver versions of the flora that make up Montreal’s flag and coat of arms. The French fleur-de-lys, English red rose, Irish clover and Scottish thistle all add a neat detail to the jersey.
BMO Financial Group, the Bank of Montreal is the shirt sponsor once again for the Impact.
