Monterrey have officially unveiled their 2015/16 home and away jerseys. It is truly out with the old and in with the new as Monterrey try to move on from a forgetful 2014/15 campaign with a brand new stadium and kit. This is the second year the club will be sponsored by PUMA.
The new kit is traditional with a modern spin. It features a unique design with differently sized navy and white stripes as well as a navy panel on the chest. The design is intended to simulate an ‘M’ on the front of the jersey.
The jersey features white shoulder panels and navy sleeves. The back of the jersey is solid navy with a white strip at the bottom.
The navy collar has a classic polo look. Inside the neckline is the club’s famous slogan “En la Vida y en la Cancha” (In life and on the pitch).
Sponsors that feature on the jersey include BBVA Bancomer and Bimbo on the chest and Tecate and H.E.B. on the back among others elsewhere.
The Monterrey crest features 4 white stars above the crest and 3 gold stars below to represent their 4 Liga MX titles and their 3 CONCACAF Champions League titles.
The new jerseys will be worn for the first time against Portuguese side Benfica in the new Estadio BBVA Bancomer on August 2nd.
Monterrey also released their 2015/16 away jersey. The jersey is white with subtly grey stripes on the front to pay homage to the Cerro de la Silla (Saddle Mountain), which was named for its saddle-shaped profile being a famous symbol of Monterrey). The sleeves and shoulders are white as well with grey accent throughout.
The collar is a false v-neck in grey with a Mexican flag in the inside of the neckline. The PUMA symbol along with sponsors change colors from white to navy to complement their background.
Both the 2015/2016 Monterrey Home and Away Jerseys are available at World Soccer Shop.
