Although they are happy to finally find out who their opponent is, the team does not expect to train any differently or make any adjustments to their game plan.
"We want to go over there and play well; we are not looking at this as a vacation. Our goal right now is to get fit and prepared for the MLS season and this is part of that," said defender Eddie Robinson. "I don't think our competition is going to affect the way we prepare. We're just looking forward to playing some competitive games."
This will be the first time that both teams face one another, something that doesn't faze the Men in Orange.
"The level over there is growing and getting stronger every year, taking a similar course just like the MLS. It will be good competition for them as well as us," said goalkeeper Tony Caig.
"We prepare to win and it doesn't matter who we play; we can play a team from Japan or Los Angeles. We just prepare to play the way we have been playing the last couple of years," said midfielder Corey Ashe.
Dynamo players do understand, however, that some adjustments will be made by the coaching staff because of the opponent. Even though this is a preseason tournament, the players do want to come out on the winning end.
"It doesn't matter what league it is. If the team is always at the top of its league, then it's obviously a good team. There are no cupcakes in this tournament," said Robinson. "The people in Hawaii should be excited, because they are going to see some good soccer. It is going to be entertaining, to say the least."
