San Jose midseason revelation Darren Huckerby says he plans to retire with the team, suggesting that he would re-up at season's end.
The 32-year old arrived from his beloved Norwich City this summer, becoming a fast fan favorite among Quakes fans.
"This will be the last team I play for," Huckerby told the San Francisco Chronicle. "You can't go on forever."
"I'll go out while I'm still on top, I won't be playing 'til I'm 37 or 38."
As for his form, which has seen the attacker notch six goals and two assists in 10 games, Huckerby knows best how to use his top skill: pace.
"There are a lot of people who have speed and don't use it the way they should," he explained. "If I've got a chance to beat somebody, I beat them."
"I don't mess around with doing tricks or trying to be clever - I just get past them as quick as I can."
