After picking up a quadriceps injury that will put him on the shelf for as many as six weeks, New England rookie ace Kheli Dube conceded he was down over missing next week's clash with David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy.

The striker is a big fan of the England century mark man and can't see why anyone wouldn't relish the thought of lining up against the superstar.

"Playing against Beckham would have been a great honor," Dube told Zimbabwe's Sunday News. "It would have definitely been an exciting moment to be on the same field with him because he is a great player."

"I have watched him play and I can tell from the way he plays and involves his mates."
