Houston Dynamo midfielder Stuart Holden says he has no second thoughts about choosing to play for the U.S. National Team over his native Scotland.
The Olympian was never approached by his birth country, but claims his ending up in Red, White & Blue is the way things are supposed to be.
"Whether I could represent Scotland is something I toiled with, but nothing concrete ever really came up," Holden told the Herald. "There was a newspaper report saying (Scotland manager during 2007) Alex McLeish had watched me one time when he was in charge of the national team and that was it."
"I wasn't going to sit around and wait for Scotland to come calling and, having played the majority of my soccer here in the U.S., it made sense to accept when I was called up by Bob Bradley."
