FC Dallas manager Schellas Hyndman has teased that the club are working hard to lure a star man from Europe, but said he is not referring to the oft-linked Zé Roberto of Bayern Munich.
With strike ace Kenny Cooper seemingly headed out the door, the Pizza Hut Park crew have been linked to several foreign attackers - but Hyndman may be able to sneak one in under the radar due to the quality of family living in the States.
"We’re talking to one player now that is a very good player from Europe, and he has a contract in Turkey, he’s got a contract in Mexico, and potentially he could have a contract in Dallas," the coach told reporters. "The money may be better in Turkey, the money may be better in Mexico, but the lifestyle may be better here."
"We’ve now invited him in to come and visit Dallas."
"If he can come in and look at our facilities, meet the coaches, look at a home that he could buy and his family can live in…. that may make a little bit of a difference to him because he already has his money," he added. "He’s a well known player and he’s established... so it’s now more about lifestyle.
"But he’s a good player - if we are able to get him, you will all be pleased."
