Real Salt Lake won a see-saw penalty kick shootout against Eastern Conference final hosts Chicago to seal their first ever MLS Cup place.

Though the 120 minutes of play ended scoreless, there was plenty of action and chances at both ends, with keepers Jun Busch and Nick Rimando stealing the show.

The latter eventually saved three spot kicks in the shootout, allowing Ned Grabavoy to smash home the 5-4 decider in the seventh round.
