As the new season is well underway, we take a look at some of our favorite new jersey reveals for 2016. Major League Soccer began the 2016 season with a bang. Every team was in action last Sunday, which made for some astonishing attacking soccer. While some clubs have yet to showcase their latest looks on the pitch, we’ve complied our top five favorite new jerseys, in no particular order, of course.
The “Sky to Sea” jersey offers a great visual of a diamond pattern setting up a great gradient effect. It also helps that the contrasting blues combine well with metallic silver. A fantastic look to feature Vancouver’s natural beauty.
We stay in the West, with LA Galaxy’s simple and clean primary jersey. The sash is updated with a solid two-color navy and gold scheme broken up by an updated Herbalife Nutrition script logo. It’s a neat look overall for the five-time MLS Cup winners.
Another jersey that combines numerous tones of blue with metallic silver to great effect. Add in fashionable features such as the Henley collar and horizontal stripes, and we have another case of Sporting Style shining through for SKC’s jerseys.
Houston went black for the first time in their existence for their secondary jersey, and the look places them among the best in MLS this season. Combined with three tones of orange on a chevron and some Space Blue trim, the Dynamo have an electrifying clash look.
With a couple clubs resorting back to traditional looks this season, our nod goes to the Montreal Impact’s blue and black striped primary, predating their MLS existence. Silver trim within the stripes, as well as on adornments honoring the city’s history and heritage, and we have un maillot magnifique.
