The Mexican National Team has revealed their latest set of kits from adidas, in preparation for June’s Copa America 2015. For the first time in their history, El Tri will wear black home kits, a major change from their traditional green worn for nearly fifty years. Mexico will be one of two guest CONCACAF teams, alongside Jamaica in the COMNEBOL-based tournament in Chile.
The striking new home kit comes in black, with gray and light green details. The collar is a basic rounded crew style. The three stripes on the sleeves are light green, coming from the collar to the shoulders. The back of the collar has a Mexico wordmark in light green at the nape. On the chest on the shirt is a unique gray horizontal pattern, with a light green adidas logo and a monochrome Mexican National Team seal in the same color across from each other. At the hem of the shirt is a striped pattern styled like the Mexican national flag, in light green, white and red. Black shorts with light green trim are also present on the shorts and socks, with the socks sharing the tricolor stripe from the hem of the jersey.
The away kit comes in white, and has black, light green and red details. The collar is in a polo style, with a thin bright green trim at the top. The shoulder stripes are black. The back of the shirt has Mexico placed under the collar, in light green. On the chest, the special light green seal from the home kit is also on the away kit. The hem of the shirt has an attractive red and light green striped pattern, with red spots over the green stripe, and a solid red stripe underneath. White socks and shorts, with black adidas stripes on both and red and green trim on the socks, completes the look.
The 2015 Mexico home and away jerseys which they will wear at this summer’s Copa America are available at World Soccer Shop and other fine soccer retailers.
