The 2016 Copa American Centenario is bucking the trend of playing major soccer finals at the Rose Bowl after announcing that MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey will host the final on Sunday, June 26. The 82,000 seat stadium that opened in 2010 has hosted other soccer matches, including USMNT and Gold Cup matches, but this will be the most high-profile game yet.

The expanded 16-team tournament is celebrating their 100th year and for the first time in history it is being hosted outside of South America.  It is the oldest continental soccer championship.

MetLife Stadium will also host one of the final Group B matches on June 12 and a quarterfinal match on June 17.
