The Houston Dynamo overcame a one goal deficit to defeat the New England Revolution to win the 2007 MLS Cup 2-1 at RFK Stadium on this day in soccer history. Dwayne DeRosario scored the game winner.
It was the second game winning MLS Cup goal the Canadian has scored, achieving the same feat in 2001 while the team was still in San Jose, and earned him another MLS Cup Most Valuable Player honor.
"I think 2001 was special and I think this one was even more special, because of just the fact that we're the second team now to go back-to-back," DeRosario said after the match. "Just to make history in the league again, to be the second team to go back-to-back, is a special moment and I think this moment will live in our hearts forever."

Joseph Ngwenya started the comeback for the Lone Star state side with his 61st minute finish. Until that moment it looked like the Revolution might finally get to play the part of the bride rather than the bridesmaid.
The loss for the Revolution dropped them to 0-4 in MLS Cup matches, including the penalty shootout loss last season. And much like in 2006, Taylor Twellman gave the Revs the lead this year in the first half.
"I'm not mad, I'm not sad, it's just nothing," Twellman told MLSnet.com. "I've got nothing in me. You guys can call me Jim Kelly for all you want" referring to the infamous Buffalo Bills of the NFL who lost 4 Super Bowls.
