Today, Manchester United and adidas UK have unveiled the Red Devils’ new alternative look for the 2016/17 season. It celebrates moments of glory in their rich history such as their first European Cup title against Eusebio’s Benfica in 1968.
The new away jersey features collegiate blue as main color, using a melange effect on the fabric to give it a bold touch. Red is used for different details, such as the Manchester United crest on the left chest, adidas performance logo and the iconic three stripes on the shoulders. Chevrolet logo appears fully colored on the front.
An inner tag on the neck reads “The Red Devils”, while a bicolored necktape holds the club’s initials on the back. The uniform is completed with blue shorts and socks and is accompanied by a traditional green GK kit for David De Gea.
David Beckham himself became the first MUFC fan to get the new away jersey customized with his name and iconic number 7, while the players will have to wait until July 22nd to use the new change kit for the first time when Manchester United face Borussia Dortmund during the Aon Tour 2016 in Shanghai.
