One of the world’s best young talents returns to one of the world’s most popular clubs. Premier League side Manchester United have confirmed a world-record transfer fee for French international midfielder Paul Pogba from Juventus.

The 23-year old Pogba is the latest and biggest summer transfer target to join the Red Devils. He had been strongly linked with a return to Old Trafford after four years away from the club, having achieved plenty of success in Italy. United sealed the record deal for Pogba for a whopping €105 million ($116.8 million).

“Manchester United is delighted to announce that Paul Pogba has completed his transfer from Italian club Juventus,” the club confirmed on their official website. “Paul joins on a five-year contract, with the option to extend for a further year.”

“I am delighted to rejoin United,” Pogba said of the deal. “It has always been a club with a special place in my heart and I am really looking forward to working with José Mourinho. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Juventus and have some fantastic memories of a great club with players that I count as friends. But I feel the time is right to go back to Old Trafford. I always enjoyed playing in front of the fans and can’t wait to make my contribution to the team. This is the right club for me to achieve everything I hope to in the game.”

Pogba joins the likes of defender Eric Bailly, midfielder Henrik Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic as United newcomers this transfer window. New manager José Mourinho is also an exciting addition to a stellar Red Devils outfit this upcoming season.
