Major League Soccer has been slowly growing over the past few years. With recent expansions Orlando City SC and New York City FC doing quite well, another city has been given the opportunity to flourish in the United States’ premier soccer competition. It was announced earlier this year that Atlanta would be the site of a new MLS franchise set to kick off operations in the 2017 season. Fans from around the city and the south finally have a team to cheer for.

On July 7th, Atlanta United FC released their new logo and colors in a video on their official YouTube page:

Among other things, the video also discusses the new Atlanta United stadium, which will employ a state of the art retractable roof and technology to be the most advanced stadium in MLS.

The club also recently announced that former USMNT captain Carlos Bocanegra will be the club’s official technical director.

Atlanta United have even released their official hashtag which can be seen on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter as: #ATLUTD

Although the new season is months away, fans are still excited to see the newest MLS team in action. More club news will be released in the near future.
