Adriano happy to stay with Inter
2008-11-20 23:11:00
Inter Milan forward Adriano admits he has had a falling-out with coach Jose Mourinho but claims he is happy to remain at the San Siro.

Adriano has been left out of Mourinho's squad for the last five Serie A games after falling out with his coach, sparking fresh speculation over his future.

But the Brazil forward claimed he will be back in the Inter side for this weekend's crunch game against Juventus and hopes to remain at the Nerazzurri.

"First I have to resolve my situation with Inter," said Adriano after helping Brazil to a 6-2 humiliation of Portugal. "There's still nothing definite.

"It's not always easy to adapt when you leave Europe, play in Brazil and then go back. But I scored goals in the Champions League and Serie A.

"There were some problems and they (the Inter coaching staff) decided to put me aside, but on Saturday I will be back with the team and I hope I can continue my job.

"If not there, then in another team."

Adriano was back in his homeland on international duty, scoring in the final minute of last night's game, but was forced to deny reports that he was also using the trip to talk to Fluminense about a deal to play in the Campeonato Brasileiro in 2009.

The 26-year-old claimed he wants see out his contract with Inter, which runs until 2010, adding that he would only return to Flamengo.

But Adriano insists a move is not on the cards at the moment.

"I am very happy to be back in the national team and I'm going through a great period in my career," he added. "There's nothing in the offing that links me to Brazilian football.

"I'll return to training at my club waiting first for my situation at Inter to resolve itself.

"Then, if I should return to play in Brazil, my priority remains Flamengo, it's one of my dreams and I have never hidden that.

"But I haven't talked to anybody from Flamengo so far."
