Wolfsburg manager Armin Veh claims Bosnia striker Edin Dzeko is free to leave the Bundesliga club should a suitable offer be made.
The 23-year-old has announced his desire to move on next summer after three years with the reigning German champions.
The highly-rated frontman insists a switch to AC Milan would be his preferred choice, with the Rossoneri having expressed an interest in his services.
And Veh has revealed now that he will not stand in Dzeko's way should the opportunity arise for him to further his career, but he insists a buy-out clause must be met before a potential sale can be discussed.
"It is a fact that he is able to leave if there is a club willing to pay the amount agreed in his contract," Veh told Eurosport.
"This amount of money would put us in the position of being able to find a replacement of a standard comparable to Edin Dzeko's."
