Two years after Nike released the original Hypervenom, they are back with the next generation of the boot that is designed for the agile attacking player.

The Hypervenom II features a stunning orange/grey colourway, and is packed with the very latest in Nike technology.

The upper of the boot and the Flyknit collar is grey, with a bold orange and black design beginning towards the base and continuing across the soleplate. The Nike Swoosh appears in orange on the upper, and black on the heel.

The zigzag design was inspired by the players who wear the Hypervenom and their ability to quickly change direction on the pitch.

As for new technology, the Hypervenom II is the first Nike boot to combine a Flyknit Dynamic Fit Collar with an enhanced mesh upper, giving a better fit than ever.

The sidewalls are not as soft as the upper, and not as hard as the soleplate, providing a balance between the two surfaces.

The laces have been offset to one side to allow for a larger strike zone, and cannot be felt from the inside of the boot to eliminate irritation.

In response to player feedback, the soleplate is made from a softer compound than the original Hypervenom, and the traction design is aimed to improve sudden changes of direction.

“Players loved the original Hypervenom, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do even better,” Max Blau, VP of Nike Football Footwear said at the unveiling. “We’re not afraid to make as many changes as the boot needs to be the best. The kind of players who wear Hypervenom would expect nothing less.”

The Hypervenom II will be worn by superstars including Neymar Jr, Wayne Rooney, Edinson Cavani and Robert Lewandowski.

“I feel confident wearing the Hypervenom II,” Barcelona forward Neymar Jr added. “I’m able to change direction, accelerate and evade defenders without hesitation and I also love the look of the boot.”

The Nike Hypervenom II will be available at World Soccer Shop.
