PSV Eindhoven are to contest a suspension proposed for striker Nordin Amrabat following an off-the-ball incident in the Dutch Super Cup against Feyenoord.

A KNVB prosecutor has found Amrabat guilty of fouling Nicky Hofs in an incident missed by referee Kevin Blom during PSV's 2-0 win, and a three-game ban - with one game conditional - was offered.

However, PSV announced on Wednesday that they would take the case to the KNVB's disciplinary committee.

"We find this offer too heavy, so we don't want to accept it," said PSV coach Huub Stevens in De Telegraaf. "Nordin did not foul him deliberately, so it is right that we say no."
