Ajax Priced Off Of Wielart

Ajax look set to end to their interest in FC Twente defender Rob Wielaert after the clubs failed to agree a transfer fee.

The 30-year-old's agent confirmed last week talks were at an advanced stage with the player keen on a move to the Amsterdam club.

Wielaert had been linked with a switch to Ajax last summer, but talks stalled between the two clubs.

And Ajax technical director Danny Blind has revealed that could happen again because they are unwilling to match Twente's demands.

"For the time being FC Twente have another price in their heads to that which we want to pay," Blind told television station AT5.

"The difference is so great that an agreement is unimaginable. We are now the third party and must wait."

According to Blind, Wielaert has threatened to go to the Dutch FA's arbitrary commission if an agreement cannot be reached.
