Ranked as one of the twenty largest soccer clubs by Forbes magazine, Hamburger SV will look for a drastic improvement over the past two seasons when they only survived as a German Bundesliga team via the relegation playoffs.
Still the only Bundesliga club to have appeared in every season of the league since its founding in 1963, Hamburger SV’s status sees their kit supplier adidas furnish them with exclusive jersey designs on an annual basis.
Here is a look at the Hamburger SV 2015/16 adidas home and away jerseys that the club and adidas dropped ahead of this weekend’s pre-season Telekom Cup 2015. The white home and blue away kits both saw action as Hamburg defeated Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC Augsburg to win the title for the first time since 2009.
The Hamburger SV 15/16 home shirt has the team’s traditional white base. It is accented by a blue round neck collar, sleeve cuffs and adidas branding. Two fine bands in red and blue border the Emirates Airlines logo on the front of the jersey.
HSV’s new away jersey uses two tones of blue separated by a white band on the front for what adidas Deutschland calls a youthful look. Its adidas shoulder stripes and logo are white.
The Hamburger 2015/16 adidas kits both have the text “NUR DER HSV” (ONLY THE HSV) printed on their upper backs. A golden star appears above their badges in recognition of the side’s ten major German and European championships.
