Winners of the last four Chinese Super League titles and the first ever Chinese club to win the prestigious AFC Champions League (back in 2014), Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao Football Club are currently the powerhouse of soccer in China.
Thus it came as no surprise that last week’s unveiling of the Southern China Tigers 2015 home kit from Nike was greeted with massive interest.
The new Guangzhou uniform is in the club’s famous red with gold accents. The jersey on the kit is also one of the first to use a new Nike shirt design that has a series of tonal chevron shapes on its front.
The kit is completely modern in design with a slim fit and moderate v-neck collar in gold. Gold is also used as trim on the sleeves and for the four badges above the Guangzhou Evergrand badge that celebrates the club’s Super League crowns from 2011 to 2014.
A regular source of players to the Chinese national football team (including captain Zheng Zhi), Guangzhou Evergrande’s best known players are AC Milan and Italy forward striker Gilardino.
