Steven Gerrard became a victim of his own words during Liverpool’s 2-0 loss to Chelsea. Liverpool’s skipper gifted Chelsea their first goal after slipping while wearing his adidas NitroCharge 1.0.

Gerrard may now be wishing that he had opted for a SG soleplate instead of the FG one he wore, especially since the race for the title is now out of Liverpool’s hands.

Injury ruled Ronaldo out of the Copa Del Rey final, meaning that Nike’s plan to debut his signature boot was thwarted. Instead, Ronaldo debuted the boots against Bayern in what was an equally tantalising clash. This latest Ronaldo Vapor was released to celebrate the incredible season that the Ballon D’or winner has had and was limited to only 100 pairs.

Jonjo Shelvey scored one of the goals for the season this weekend with an incredible half-pitch effort. Shelvey is an interesting case boot wise as the former-Liverpool man has stuck with the original adidas Predator LZ for some time now. As evidenced by an impressive season which culminated in the fantastic goal, Shelvey has enjoyed some good luck while wearing the boots so we doubt he is going to be switching out of them anytime soon.

The title is now Joe Hart and Manchester City’s to lose. The Citizens have to win their remaining three games to, in all probability, secure the title thanks to their superior goal difference. During his side’s game against Crystal Palace, Hart was in the orange/black Umbro Speciali IV that we spotted fellow Umbro man Andy Carroll in last week.

Lazar Markovic gave the new Mizuno Morelia Neo colourway its debut during Benfica’s Europe League clash with Juventus. Mizuno unveiled the colourway the day of the match, describing it as a “fresh Brazilian paint job”.

Red Bull Leipzig captain Daniel Frahm was spotted in a great looking pair of adidas adiZero. Featuring a mixed soleplate the red and black colourway goes well with Leipzig’s red/white kit.

While Nike did release an official black out colourway for the Nike CTR360 Maestri, we suspect that N Diaye has blacked out his himself. The official CTR colourway features gold trim which N Diaye’s pair does not have. Nonetheless its a great looking pair of boots.

That does it for this week’s edition of our Global #CleatSpotting!
