RKC Waalwijk coach Zeljko Petrovic has confirmed he and former Tottenham manager Martin Jol will take over at Hamburg next week.
Jol has been strongly tipped to be named as the German club's new manager and Petrovic has admitted he will be the Dutchman's assistant.
Petrovic told AD Sportwereld: "Just like Martin, I will sign a contract for two years there.
"I wouldn't want to work as an assistant under many coaches
"I am now 42 years old and two years from now I will be 44. After that I have enough time to be head coach again somewhere.
"And I can of course learn a lot at a club like HSV. I see this as an enormous step forwards."
Petrovic, who was Ruud Gullit's sidekick at Feyenoord between 2004 and 2005, also revealed he turned down the chance to coach Belgian side AA Gent.
"I travelled to them yesterday to tell them personally that I chose HSV."
