Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko will miss two weeks of pre-season after suffering an ankle injury in training on Tuesday.
The Bosnian, who had been strongly linked with a move to AC Milan this summer but now looks set to be staying with the Wolves, took a blow to his right ankle in a challenge with team-mate Andreas Barzagli.
The 23-year-old was taken to a hospital in Braunschweig for tests and was ruled out for two weeks.
A statement on Wolfsburg's official website read: "Striker Edin Dzeko suffered a joint capsule and ligament injury to his right ankle in training on Tuesday morning.
"The 23-year-old will probably have to rest for 14 days."
