Bayern Munich must put the disappointment of a crushing UEFA Cup defeat behind them and concentrate on winning the Bundesliga on Sunday.
A point would be enough to see Ottmar Hitzfeld's side get their hands on the 'salad bowl' - as the Bundesliga trophy is popularly known - although that may not be needed if Schalke and Werder Bremen fail to win their respective matches on Saturday.
Bayern were thumped 4-0 by Zenit St Petersburg in their UEFA Cup semi-final second leg on Thursday to crash out 5-1 on aggregate to the Russian champions.
Hitzfeld is keen to get a 21st Bundesliga title wrapped up and consign Thursday's upset to the history books.
"That was a really black day for us," he said of the midweek humiliation.
"However, the team has played a fantastic season and we don't want to make it out to be all bad.
"We just were not as strong in Europe as we have been in the Bundesliga."
Bayern have had no serious rivals in Germany this season, particularly since Christmas. Hitzfeld's side have lost only once in the league this year.
However, after missing out on the UEFA Cup, the best Hitzfeld will be able to do is emulate his predecessor Felix Magath, who won three pieces of silverware with Bayern in his first season in 2005.
Magath followed that up with a domestic double in 2006 before being replaced by Hitzfeld in February 2007.
He is now manager of Wolfsburg and plotting the downfall of the club where he celebrated his most success as a coach with five titles in two and a half years.
"We are going to have to get at them from the first minute," he said.
"We cannot adapt to their rhythm but must dictate the tempo ourselves, and then we have the chance to land a win."
Although they will win no silverware this term, qualification for the UEFA Cup is still a distinct possibility and nobody, not even Magath, would have expected that in his first year in charge.
Wolfsburg find themselves four points behind the top four with four games of the season remaining but, unlike their rivals, they have not had the extra strain of European football this season. Magath sees that as an advantage, particularly on Sunday.
"Bayern have been in three competitions right to the very end and they have also had a lot of players on international duty," he explained.
"Therefore, they are not one of the freshest sides around."
Wolfsburg are not at full strength either with Facundo Quiroga, Jonathan Santana and Josue all absent on Sunday.
Magath has therefore called 20-year-old defender Daniel Reiche up from the youth team.
Hitzfeld welcomes France international Willy Sagnol back into his squad, although with rumours persisting that he will be leaving the club in the summer, he may have already played his last game for the club.
Miroslav Klose is out after undergoing an operation on a broken nose, giving Lukas Podolski the chance to end a disappointing season on a high alongside Luca Toni in the attack.
