The rumor mill started to churn last week after Steven Gerrard confirmed he would not be returning to Liverpool next season with many indicators pointed to the United States and Major League Soccer as his next destination. Those rumors were confirmed on Wednesday with the Los Angeles Galaxy tweeting the midfielder was set to join the side.

The midfielder will bring his skills and love of the adidas Predator this summer after he completes the Premier League season. The iconic cleat is a closely associated with Gerrard as the midfielder is to Liverpool, the only club he has even played for.
Gerrard loves the Predator for its comfort, accuracy, and power. They were the first soccer cleat that he pulled on and instantly fell in love with and that has translated into a long relationship and confidence that the cleat will perform for him. The 34-year-old had a brief affair with the adidas NitroCharge shortly after it was released but this was only due to an injury he was carrying. Once healed he was back on the field with his Predators.
The move could not be better news from adidas. The German shoe and apparel company is a major sponsor of MLS and will no doubt be playing up and promoting the Predator once Stevie G lands in southern California.
But Gerrard will not be the first English import to join the Galaxy with a love affair with the Predator. The original Designated Player, David Beckham, was the face for many years for the adidas Predator silo. He capped off his MLS and playing career wearing the adidas Predator in the Pink/White colorway as the Galaxy won the MLS Cup in his send-off. It was one of main Predators the midfielder pulled on over his career.
Be the midfield Predator on your team. The adidas Predator Instinct FG (Rich Blue/Running White/Neon Green) is available at World Soccer Shop and other fine soccer retailers.
