Metz's final home match in Ligue 1 will be played behind closed doors after an appeal against the sanctions imposed on them was rejected.
Metz were docked a point and ordered to play a game without spectators after Valenciennes captain Abdeslam Ouaddou received abuse from a Metz fan during a league match between the two sides at the St Symphorien in February.
The Lorraine club appealed but the decision of the French league's disciplinary commission has been rubber-stamped by the Comite National Olympique et Sportif Francais (CNOSF).
Saturday's match against Lorient will therefore be played behind closed doors.
Metz are bottom of the Ligue 1 table and have already been relegated.
