PSG reach Coupe de France final
2008-05-06 23:46:01

Paris St Germain advanced to the Coupe de France final thanks to Yannick Boli's second-half winner in a 1-0 win against Amiens.

The substitute calmly stroked home the only goal of the match in the 78th minute as a largely second-string PSG saw off the hosts from Ligue 2 with some difficulty in a tie that was postponed for 10 minutes because of crowd problems

The capital club will meet either Lyon or Sedan in the final later this month.

However, PSG are bound to be in trouble as it was their fans who released tear gas onto the pitch in the 34th minute, causing the players to be rushed off the pitch by referee Tony Chapron.

The incident is a further black mark against PSG, who have been banned from next season's Coupe de la Ligue after some of their fans unfurled an offensive banner at this year's final.

Willamis Souza was a constant danger to Amiens early on and the PSG winger went close with two free-kicks in the opening half-hour.

Amiens forward Antoine Buron then crashed an effort over before the game was stopped by Chapron because of the crowd problems.

The home side dominated the start of the second half and created a number of half-chances as PSG's inexperienced team failed to find their passing range.

It was therefore against the run of play that Boli grabbed the winner, the youngster playing a one-two with Peguy Luyindula before beating a defender and lifting a neat shot over Benoit Benvegnu from 18 yards.

Goalkeeper Jerome Alonzo was forced to make two great saves late on to preserve the lead as PSG progressed through to their second cup final this season.
