Lyon coach Alain Perrin will shuffle his pack for Wednesday's Coupe de France semi-final against Ligue 2 side Sedan at the Stade Gerland.
Key players such as striker Karim Benzema and midfielder Juninho could be rested, with Les Gones' Ligue 1 clash with Nancy on Saturday more important to Perrin.
"We must think about making certain changes and managing the squad," he said. "But we have to keep our team strong."
Left-back Fabio Grosso is available again after missing Saturday's goalless draw at Nice through suspension, while highly-rated left-winger Hatem Ben-Arfa should be given a start.
Lyon, who are still on course for a league-and-cup double, have not won the Coupe de France since 1973.
Sedan have a better recent history in the competition - they were beaten finalists in 1999 and 2005.
Coach Jose Pasqualetti has named a 20-man squad that includes Pierre Bouysse, Chiguy Lucau and Ismael Traore, all three of whom missed last Friday's 1-0 home victory over Libourne/Saint-Seurin.
Veteran midfielder Aliou Cisse (back) is the only injury absentee for the side who are currently eighth in the second division.
