Lens striker Aruna Dindane has been ruled out for six months after rupturing ligaments in his left knee in the goalless draw against Monaco.
The Ivory Coast striker, who sustained the injury at the start of Saturday's Ligue 1 match, will be operated on on Tuesday.
Dindane has been in and out of Les Sang et Or's starting XI of late, but he is still their top scorer in the league this season with eight goals.
His absence will still come as a major blow to coach Jean-Pierre Papin, whose side are level on 39 points with third-bottom Paris Saint-Germain with two matches left this campaign.
