"He is under contract, but of course it is easier to have a debriefing after a victorious campaign,” Escalettes said of the coach. "But, as far as I'm concerned, I will support Domenech until the end. I am not a dishonest man, I would not say, 'Raymond, resignation'.

"I am in favour of his continuation until 2010. But this is the truth today, other factors may come into consideration."

Domenech of course has a chance to reverse his fortunes in the final Group C match on Tuesday against Italy.  A win against the Azzurri could see France through to the quarterfinals, depending on the result from the Romania and Holland match.
