Arsenal’s French striker Olivier Giroud became the seventh Gunner to reach fifty Premier League goals for his club. He’s also the third Frenchman to reach the mark, following Robert Pires and Thierry Henry. Aresenal would take top spot on the table at that time with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, as Giroud netted an 8th minute penalty.
Vardy Strikes; Vultures Circle Mourinho

Jaime Vardy got back to scoring form for Leicester City with a goal in his consecutive home match, as the Foxes topped the Premier League with a 2-1 victory. The vultures are definitely circling over José Mourinho as manager of Chelsea FC, as the Blues have lost their ninth game of the season, falling to 16th. West Ham United and Stoke City played to an entertaining 0-0 draw on Matchday 16. West Ham, sitting on eighth on the table after this match, have the same amount of points after sixteen rounds last season with twenty-four (the Hammers were in fourth place at this point last season).
