FC Barcelona and Nike Football have launched a new home kit for the upcoming 2016/17 season, where they’ll defend their Liga and Copa del Rey titles while trying to get their hand on the coveted Champions League trophy.
The new jersey celebrates 25 years of their first European Cup, won against Sampdoria at Wembley during the 1991-92 campaign.
The shirt features the much anticipated return of Barça’s iconic vertical red and blue stripes, and adds a classic touch with light pinstripes on the body. Sleeves and shoulders are painted in a darker shade of blue, highlighting the players athletic figure and creating a modern look.

The new uniform is made with Nike Vapor Aeroswift technology, which provides breathability and structure with a new textured high-performance yarn.
FC Barcelona crest sits proudly on the heart, escorted by a yellow swoosh on the right and – for the first time in years – no sponsor will adorn the front of the jersey, resulting in a clean look. Beko logo appears on the left sleeve in white, while UNICEF lettering is seen on the low back.
“Barça” is written on the top back, with a Senyera detail below it to represent the club’s Catalan heritage. The words “Un Crit’” and “Valen” are on the inner cuffs, and together mean “Our Cry is Bold” (excerpt from the club’s official anthem, sung prior to kick-off at Camp Nou).
Shorts will also feature Vapor Aeroswift specifications, and are mainly blue with lateral red stripes that run down from the jersey. Barcelona badge is placed on the right leg, with Nike logo on the opposite limb. Blue socks with yellow detailing complete the new uniform.
“At FC Barcelona, we believe in attacking and fast football,” explains team Captain Andres Iniesta. “This new kit feels light and comfortable — it’s an expression of both our heritage and our future.”
