The teen attacker took a brief moment out of preparing for the Summer Olympics on Tuesday to officially shake hands with ACM owner Jerome de Bontin on the deal.

"I am excited and honored by the thought of pulling on the Monaco jersey," stated Adu. "The club has a great history and I am very eager to meet (Monaco manager) Ricardo, his staff and my new teammates."

American chief De Bontin was also all smiles as he welcomed his new #20 shirt to the Stade Louis fold.

"I've known him for five years and I think he will bring fame to us with his professionalism and his effort, but also his desire for achieving goals."
