Former Plymouth Argyle goalkeeper Luke McCormick was sentenced to seven years in jail for causing the death of two young boys.
McCormick, who admitted to causing the deaths of Arron Peak (10) and his brother Ben (8), was well over the drink drive limit when he crashed his Range Rover into the Peaks' car.
McCormick is said to have told a witness at the scene of the accident that he had fallen asleep at the wheel, while other witnesses claim he had been driving recklessly at a speed of around 90mph.
The former England youth international was found to have 74 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
