Lampard: A Strong Ball, True To Hit
2009-12-04 15:50:49
With the World Cup just a few months away, adidas unveiled the latest FIFA World Cup Match Ball, the Jabulani, on Friday, December 4 and it is already a hit among players with shockingly even some goalkeepers chiming in on the flight of the new ball.

Frank Lampard was critical to England finishing on top of UEFA Group 6 World Cup Qualifying.  The Chelsea player knocked in 4 goals during the qualifying campaign and said the ball was ‘A very strong ball, true to hit.’

The Three Lions will be counting on Lampard backing those words up in South Africa once the tournament starts in the hope of winning a second world title.

Germany’s Michael Ballack added; “Fantastic, the ball does exactly what I want it to” while Brazil’s Kaka said “For me, contact with the ball is all-important, and that’s just great with this ball.”

And while goalkeepers usually hate any new ball designs as they tend to favor the attacking player, even Peter Cech had a positive to say on the ball, "You can feel the energy coming towards you, like a shot.”  On second glance not sure if Cech was praising the ball or just stating the facts.
