Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz has targeted Saturday's clash against Tottenham as an ideal time to make his return from injury.
The Paraguay international has not featured for Rovers' last three Premier League outings, and the team have sorely missed his goalscoring talents and find themselves just one place of the relegation zone.
Santa Cruz had also been overlooked by Paraguay for the recent international schedule, but the Rovers ace admits the two-week break has given him the chance to regain his fitness, and he is now fully focused on helping the Ewood Park outfit avoid the drop for the first time since 1999.
"It is going better, I have been working hard in the gym to get the strength back to the leg and I have been playing a lot with pain in my knees," said Santa Cruz.
"Now that is getting really good and hopefully I can get back to 100 percent in the next game.
"The idea is to be fit for the Tottenham game. That is why I have not been involved and why me, the club and Paraguay decided not to travel to the international games so I can concentrate on the rehabilitation."
