Wigan opened the scoring with their 15th minute goal as new signing Daniel De Ridder took a corner a swirled the ball across to Emile Heskey who headed it in.
Two minutes later Wednesday equalised as Deon Burton crossed to Jermaine Johnson, Johnson rounded the defender and put it past Carlo Nash.

But in the 90th minute Egyptian sensation Zaki won the hearts of the Latics faithful when he picked up Henri Camara's cross, made space and placed the ball in the left corner of the net.
