A last minute winner from Amr Zaki saw Wigan defeat Sheffield Wednesday 3-2 in their pre-season friendly.

Wigan opened the scoring with their 15th minute goal as new signing Daniel De Ridder took a corner a swirled the ball across to Emile Heskey who headed it in.

Two minutes later Wednesday equalised as Deon Burton crossed to Jermaine Johnson, Johnson rounded the defender and put it past Carlo Nash.

In the 32nd minute Wigan took the lead again as De Ridder took another cross, this time sending it in to Titus Bramble who headed the ball into the bottom left corner.

Wednesday drew level once again when Lee Cattermole brought down Marcus Tudgay in the box, earning a penalty. Deon Burton made no mistake as he slotted the ball into the back of the net.

But in the 90th minute Egyptian sensation Zaki won the hearts of the Latics faithful when he picked up Henri Camara's cross, made space and placed the ball in the left corner of the net.
