BLACKBURN 2
(Benedict McCarthy 45; Ryan Nelsen 60)
WIGAN 0
Blackburn host Wigan at Ewood Park today without the help of strikers Jason Roberts and Roque Santa Cruz, both of whom are still injured.
Paraguayan Santa Cruz is out with a knee injury while Roberts has a metatarsal problem, so neither are expected to return before the end of the season. Other than that, manager Sam Allardyce has a full squad to choose from as they look to avoid the danger zone.
The Latics recall striker Amr Zaki after he recovered from a hamstring injury and he is available from the bench. Also back in action is Lee Cattermole, who served a four-match suspension. Erik Edman features on the bench after recovering from a knee injury.
BLACKBURN: Robinson, Ooijer, Nelsen, Givet, Warnock, Diouf, Grella, Kerimoglu, Pedersen, Samba, McCarthy. Subs: Bunn, Dunn, Khizanishvili, Andrews, Villanueva, Olsson, Doran
WIGAN: Kirkland, Boyce, Scharner, Bramble, Figueroa, Valencia, Watson, Cattermole, N'Zogbia, Mido, Rodallega. Subs: Pollitt, Edman, Koumas, De Ridder, Kapo, Zaki, Brown
Referee: Peter Walton (Northamptonshire)
