Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted he is hoping to complete a "dream" move to Real Madrid despite Manchester United stating the Portugal international is not for sale.
The 23-year-old has previously expressed his desires to play in Spain but admits the decision is not up to him. "Everybody knows what I want, but things don't only depend on me," he said. "I am not the person who decides. But I hope to complete my dream."
Man United however insisted on Friday their star player will not be leaving Old Trafford. The Champions League winners said: "We are not listening to offers."
Despite this stance from United, Ronaldo has made his intentions clear that he wants to leave and revealed Portugal coach and new Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari played a part in helping him make his decision. "It is a dream, a step forward," Ronaldo replied when asked about the idea of playing with Real Madrid.
"For me it is a great opportunity and as Scolari says, that train passes by only once and we have to take advantage of it."
The winger then added he will have no problem in disappointing his current employers as he holds desires to move to the Bernabau. "It is my opinion," Ronaldo added. "That is why I don't mind if people get upset. It is my decision. It is what I want."
