Ronaldo was reported last week as saying he would like to play for Real but the Portugal star has vowed not to discuss the subject further until after Euro 2008 finishes.

If he was to make the switch to the Bernabeu, Ronaldo would be a direct threat to fellow winger Robben.

But the former Chelsea man claims he would be happy to see the Portuguese join him at Real.

"It's only good for me and good for the team," said the 24-year-old. "And it's not that if he plays, I can't play. We can play together."

Ronaldo will currently be weighing up the pros and cons regarding a move to Real, and Robben added: "It's totally up to him - I think he is enjoying himself over there (at United).

"I don't think you can say football is at a higher level (in Spain) because we weren't in the last final of the Champions League like them.

"But, for me, I think Madrid is the biggest club in the world and I can understand if he wants to join them.

"It's a great league - I think you play a bit more football in Spain and I am enjoying myself there."

Robben's first season in the Spanish capital has been hampered by injury problems but he has nevertheless shown in flashes why Real splashed out £24million for his services in August 2007.

He is currently on international duty with Holland at the Euros but a groin complaint has limited him to only 45 minutes of action in the opening two games, that coming in the second half of the Dutch's 4-1 victory over France in Bern.

Robben's cameo saw him set up a goal for Robin van Persie before scoring one himself, crashing an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net from a tight angle to put his side 3-1 in front and help clinch a place in the quarter-finals.

And the winger admits he is relieved his groin problem did not prove to be a long-standing injury.

"If you had have told me last Saturday that I'd be playing (against France), I would have said you were crazy," he said.

"It was a very, very bad moment for me. Something happened to my abductor. We did a scan but there was nothing major, just a little damage.

"I worked really hard with the medical team and it's just a big relief to be back and in the team straightaway. It's amazing."

And in a message to Real fans ahead of next season, Robben added: "For me, the most important thing is to stay fit for the whole season to show what I am capable of.

"I have shown it in the few games I have been fit, like here, but I have to show this for a long time."
