Tottenham striker Darren Bent believes he can play well alongside summer signing Roman Pavlyuchenko.
Spurs are in the midst of a striker crisis following the sale of proven talents Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov to Liverpool and Manchester United respectively this summer.
Assistant coach Gus Poyet said Bent and Russia international are unable to play together but Bent believes they can build an understanding.
Bent declared: "Poyet didn't mean that, he meant if me and Pavlyuchenko work at training it will come good.
"To be honest I would say it's just a matter of time, it's about getting to know each other. I won't say we can't play together, I would say once we start working together it will be fine.
"Anyway I think Spurs are going to bounce back soon, I have no doubt about it. We should just get one positive result to be back on the right track because we have a pretty good team."
